In the first two weeks of school, Rimu class learnt how to create and say our mihi in Maori. This is our introduction to our class and community. We also created a ‘visual mihimihi’ to match our mihis. We all had to have 3 parts to our mihi.
1) A self portrait or photo
2) Places of significance
3) Symbols or pictures that represent our culture
Those of us who spoke clearly, confidently with excellent pronunciation with great visuals and layout scored on our rubric. Take a look at my finished mihi and tell us what you think!
Jack - what a clear, concise mihi! You demonstrated good pronunciation and it was interesting to hear about where you are from. Can I ask - are you from Nelson or do you live in Nelson? There's a difference! Great job.

ReplyDeleteWow Jack
ReplyDeleteWell done on your pronunciation of your Mihi. I liked that you used a video to show your learning. Is there anything you think you could have done better? What is a rubric?
Thanks
