First Person point Of View Writing!

‘Wonder’ First Person Point Of View

Our writing task for the past couple of weeks  has been on a book based on Natalie Merchant’s song, Wonder. The book written by R.J Palacio is written in first person view and has more than one person telling the story.

Example 1
Here is my first person quote, it's is in first person because he said, “Mum kind of stepped out of the way so l had to move forward.”

Example 2
When he started school he said, “I can't say I wanted to go to school.”

Example 3
Talking about Mr Tushman With his mum on tour,“He didn't look like I pictured Though.

I think R.J Palacio uses first person when she tells ‘Wonder’. There are 2/3/4 examples as to why I think this.

In the book ‘Wonder’, Palacio uses the first person point of view to tell the story.

‘Wonder’ is a story about a boy who feels ordinary on the inside, but he is always reminded of how different he is by how people respond when

  1. Jack: You have presented some excellent examples to back up your assertions about the book being written in the first person. You have also punctuated your writing well. This makes it such a joy to read. I am not sure why the blog entry cuts out before the end. Such a pity as I was enjoying reading what 'Wonder' is about. I look forward to finding out whether you enjoy the book as much as Miss Blair does. Keep up the good work!
